Crowns

Also known as caps, crowns are carefully fitted sleeves that sit over an existing tooth to protect it from further damage and improve your smile. They are used to repair weakened or heavily broken teeth and re-align your smile.

Dental crowns come in various forms which will be dictated by your treatment need and it is now possible to use all-ceramic crowns with a lovely natural translucent appearance.

Below are some examples of the treatment provided at our practice. You can click on an image for a closer look.

You may need a crown if there is no longer enough healthy tooth left to sufficiently hold a filling. They can also be used to cover and protect damaged or weak teeth, acting as a protective sleeve which fits over your remaining tooth, improving the appearance of misshapen or discoloured teeth.

A crown may also be placed as the final stage following root canal treatment, as this has proven to be the most successful way of sealing and protecting the tooth.

At Aldershot Dental Centre, we can provide the type of crown that most suits your needs. These include white ceramic crowns such as Zirconia and EMAX, or more traditional metal crowns such as Gold and Silver.
